Please clcik play to see Graham Smith on Spanish TV demonstrating the Solar Powered Vending Machine.

SMITH BENCH - Graham Smith has now perfected (Patent Protected) his latest light box which uses just 10 Watts of power to provide light through a clear honeycomb array to disperse the illumination evenly across a large area.  Using Solar Power, a regulator and a battery this new concept provides perfect lighting for our Solar Powered Advertising Bench which is made of recycled plastic. This is the only 0 Carbon Footprint advertising medium available and many large companies are using or in discussions with GRAYhatch about using it.

Please visit our sister company at www.smithbench.co.uk

Sainsburys Turn It Off

Quotation from Sainsburys
“Save the world while brushing your teeth ”  Most people leave the tap running whilst brushing their teeth.  This wastes up to 9 litres of Water a minute or 26,000 litres of water per family, per year.

This means your street alone could fill an Olympic size swimming pool each year. Which wastes huge amounts of water and is a bit stupid – it’s like having the toilet flush the whole time you’re on it.

So why not turn off the tap while you clean your teeth ?

Waterwise reducing water waste in the UK

Quotation from Chris Philpot at Waterwise

I have been using the (GRAYhatch Water Filled) toothbrush for a couple of weeks and I quite like it.  I do find that I turn off the tap after I have filled it and that is good. “

Green Gauge Tyre Depth Monitor PDF Print E-mail

Product Announcement: GREEN GAUGE

Permanent Tyre Tread Depth Gauge

Overview

Every time someone drives a car with badly worn tyres, they are subjecting
themselves and other road users to increased risk of an accident and injury,
possibly even death, from not being able to stop within a safe distance, not
being able to control the car properly in wet conditions or simply from
the increased risk of a blow out or puncture whilst driving because of a
badly worn tyre.
In addition to this, the driver risks being fined and given penalty points
on their driving license if stopped by the police and found to have a
worn tyre or tyres that have a tread depth less than the legal limit of 1.6mm
for cars or 1.0mm for motorcycles.

It is also a proven fact that badly worn tyres can cause additional drag
and friction between the road and the car which in turn leads to increased
fuel consumption and increased CO2 emissions.

Another fact is that one of the most common causes of MOT failure is because
of badly worn tyres. The GRAYhatch Permanent Tyre Depth Gauge or Green Gauge
is a simple and easy to fit design that enables the driver to easily visually
check the wear of his car tyres without the need of having to use a separate
measuring device.  The Green Gauge indicates to the drive that he is Good to Go,
the tyre is just legal and needs changing, or the tyre is illegal,
dangerous and needs changing.

By installing two Green Gauges, one on each side of the tyre, the driver can
easily check the tyre wear without having to move the car.

Motorists are failing to check the condition of their tyres, which could have
fatal consequences, Although tyres are critical for the safety of all road users,
many motorists are in breach of, and, oblivious to, the legal 1.6mm tread
depth requirement.  Many may have tyres classified as severely worn or damaged.
With a maximum fine of £2,500 per tyre with discretionary disqualification
including three penalty points, motorists could be in for a nasty shock,
if caught driving with illegal tyres.

Continuing to drive on a severely worn tyre or tyres can lead to serious control,
braking and drivability issues. The tyres are the only contact with the road and
if they do not work together to grip the road securely, the driver’s ability to
control the vehicle can be impaired.

Hydroplaning starts sooner.

The faster you drive, the greater the risk of hydroplaning, since higher speeds
allow less time for water to escape through the tread grooves. Shallower tread
worsens that situation by allowing more water to stay beneath the tyre.
Half-tread tyres begin to skim over the water's surface at as slow as 40 mph in
hydroplane testing, about 3 to 4 mph slower than the full-tread tyres.
That’s nearly 8 percent drop in hydroplaning resistance compared with the same
model tyres when new.

The Green Gauge is manufactured from extruded rubber, basically the same material
used in tyre manufacture, and the glue provided is specifically for bonding
rubber products.
